2020 Style Trends | Tips from a Dallas Hair Stylist

With the year already flying by, it’s time to take a look at some 2020 Style Trends I am seeing as a Dallas hair stylist. What’s new and trending are questions I am frequently asked when working with clients behind the chair. In this post I will share my top favorite 2020 trends with you!

Okay y’all, so believe it or not, this style has actually been trending for a hot minute. Now, more people than ever are getting what’s called the Arrojo American Wave : which is a modern day perm. Yeah, I couldn’t believe it either… But it’s back and in full force! Whether you have waves from your mama, or from the salon, this trend is back and better than ever.

Tips and tricks:
Do you have colored hair and aren’t a candidate for a perm? No worries! Get the same look by using Arrojo’s American Wave Glint Texture and Shine Spray on damp hair; then, secure your hair in 2 braids until it is dry. Take out the braids and maybe add a few curls using a wand where needed!

Many of my clients are running towards one of my favorite trends right now which happens to be a blunt lob! It’s the perfect way to freshen up your style with something new and chic.

Tips and tricks:
Find a photo of your inspiration to show your stylist – what you want and don’t want! Want to change it up and add some texture? Simply ask your stylist for medium to long layering!

As 2019 came to a close, more and more people were choosing to go back closer to their natural color or simply toning down their blonde. Whether it’s my girls who have naturally dark hair who went blonde, and have gone back dark, or my blondes who have been adding back depth into their hair. Both look amazing and can actually revamp your color!

Tips and tricks:
Don’t want to commit to going back to your natural color just yet? Ask your stylist to add dimension back into your hair or simply tone down your blonde.

Because if your mama didn’t give it to you, I can. 😉 Whether you already have long hair and are just looking for volume or if you have short hair and are looking for both length and volume. I’ve got you covered! My all time best method for voluminous hair that you can’t grow yourself is tape extensions. They’re seamless, low profile, easy to wear, and easy to maintain.

Tips and tricks:
Worried it won’t wear like your own hair? Not to worry, our stylists are able to demonstrate all the tips and tricks, such as putting your hair in a ponytail without the extensions showing or learning how to curl them. It’s bound to look fabulous and just like you grew it yourself!
